She chose to use various black and white prints to create her own take on a 9-patch block quilt. She matched light and dark values in each red-centered 9-patch, then used thin red sashing to perfectly balance the composition. It's hand tied with little red knots at all of the intersections. The backing is a solid black with little chicken-feet peace signs printed all over.
I think it turned out just marvelously.
She's planning on using the leftover pieces to make some matching pillows, and already has another quilt in the design process.
